Michael A Helton
President | Principal Agent
Michael A. Helton is the President of Bethesda General Insurance. He began his career in the insurance industry in 1986 as an insurance agent and company representative. Mike joined Bethesda General Insurance in 1997, became a partner in 1998, and took on the role of President in 2003. He is committed to continuing the agency’s long-standing tradition of providing top-tier insurance products through leading carriers, all while maintaining competitive pricing.
Active in his church community, Mike enjoys sports and values spending quality time with his family. He and his wife, Beatriz, are proud parents of five children and eight grandchildren. Fluent in both Spanish and English, Mike exemplifies dedication both professionally and personally.

Jacqueline Shuler
Vice President | Office Manager
Jacqueline has been with the agency since 1997 and is licensed in Property & Casualty as well as Life & Health Insurance. With over 25 years of experience, she is well-equipped to help you find the right insurance policies to protect you and your family.
Outside of work, Jacqueline loves spending quality time with her son, family, and friends, and she enjoys watching movies.

Matthew Helton
Principal Agent
Matthew Helton is an Insurance Principal Agent at Bethesda General Insurance. He began his career in the insurance industry in 2022. Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, Matthew is bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2021.
Matthew’s current objective is to work alongside his father at Bethesda General Insurance, where he is committed to mastering the insurance field. His dedication aims to sustain and expand the agency, ensuring it continues to provide exceptional service to clients for many years to come.

Carlos Hernandez

My name is Carlos Hernandez, and I have been an insurance agent for over 30 years. For the past 23 years, I have had the pleasure of working at Bethesda General Insurance. I truly enjoy my role here and value the relationships I’ve built with clients and colleagues.
In my free time, I love playing and watching sports, including basketball and soccer. I also cherish spending quality time with my family. As a Christian, my faith plays a significant role in my life, guiding me in serving and helping others. I believe in being honest, kind, and patient, always striving to do my best for those around me.

Oscar Zelaya
Account Executive
Oscar Zelaya, a top producer with 29 years of experience, joined Bethesda General Insurance in 2007. He began his career in 1995 with Allstate Insurance and has since developed an extensive and up-to-date knowledge of the insurance industry. Known for his pleasant demeanor and dedication to outstanding client service, Mr. Zelaya is a valued team member at Bethesda General Insurance.
Raised in the DC Metro Area, Mr. Zelaya is fluent in both Spanish and English. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, working out, and going on long bike rides on weekends.
